BISTRO: Sydney rapper/singer/producer/multi-instrumentalist Bistro, a musician who’s gone by far too many monikers and been in too many projects to list in a press release is back after over a year away from live performance. The enigmatic solo artist who in the past, he’s dabbled in shoegaze, hip hop, trip hop, jazz, reggae, electronica, jungle, like whatever, pick a genre he’s probably done it and it was probably awesome. Known for uploading multiple projects to Bandcamp and never promoting them, let alone even posting about it on Facebook or some shit. This is an artist obsessed with process over kudos. Last year, saw the release of one of his biggest projects yet under the name, Clifford Carpenter, the full length (recorded in three days), “Trust” through Sydney label, Yes Rave (home to Bilby, Failr and more). “Trust” was a brutal dark journey of a record taking influence from shoegaze, hip hop and dark electronica. Bistro’s new mixtape (Deceased Artist, out June 2018) plays like Dean Blunt collaborating with Xtrmntr-era Primal Scream. You can also catch Bistro as part of DJ/producer duo, Wu Trump.
