KALLIDAD & BAND OF DAWN are on tour and looking forward to sharing the stage for a very special series of shows in NSW this October!

KALLIDAD: has evolved into a world-class headline act in the most unlikely of ways. All instrumental, Kallidad do not need to utter one word to create a bond with their audience, combining Spanish guitar styles with Heavy Metal roots to create an unmistakable sound that has seen the group visit Europe, Japan, Indonesia and New Zealand.

One of Australia’s hardest working bands, they are constantly crisscrossing the great southern continent, spreading their music and engaging with the land itself. The lineup is simple… two Spanish guitars and percussion. But don’t let the lightweight set up fool you!

The group has released three albums independently. The most recent, 2017’s “The Odyssey”was also accompanied by a vinyl record and even a hardcover book, detailing the band’s journey to create the album. 2018 heralds the release of two new albums – a collection of new songs entitled “Flamingo”and a compilation of old and new songs called “Unplugged”– which were recorded completely acoustically and without any editing or studio magic, featuring violinist “Bella Vita” on most tracks.

Festivals such as Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, Party in the Paddock – along with many smaller indie events – have booked Kallidad, easily spotting the group’s formidable talent. Kallidad was also voted “Most Popular Band” at Italy’s Ferrara Buskers Festival – the world-famous street music competition!

The three amigos live and breathe music and their live show is a testament to their obsession with the craft of connection.

BAND OF DAWN: is an AUS/CAN World-inspired folkrock group exploding with spine-tingling harmonies and richly textured instrumentation. The arrangment includes violin, dobro, tamboura, harp & world percussion. There are particularly mixed bloodlines in the group, flavouring their tribal soundscapes and exotic “East-meets-West” neo-Victorian aesthetic. The all-nations battalion is celebrating the long awaited release of “The Spinning Jenny: Volume 2”. This comes after a spectacular run of shows at Woodford Folk Festival 17/18, where the album was successfully debuted as a limited edition pre-release.

The Spinning Jenny series (Volumes 1 & 2) was the product of a studio collaboration of epic proportions between The Tea Party frontman, Jeff Martin, and Australian/Canadian chanteuse, Kimberley ‘Dawn’ Lysons. With an impressive line-up of world-class musicians, Band of Dawn will be performing songs from both volumes of the album, along with their exciting new material – a tantalising feast of World-infused sounds and stories.

It is no secret, Dawn is heavily inspired by the many nationalities that make up her very mixed heritage, as are all of her co-collaborators. While her fair locks may be deceiving, Dawn’s bloodlines are from India, Nepal, The Middle East, Eastern Europe, Basque Country, Scandinavia, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Russia & Mongolia… to name a few! Music is a Universal language. Band of Dawn believe it has the power to unite all people
